Instrutor Noko

Kenoko Hermiaji (Noko), was born in Purworejo, Central Java, Indonesia on April 26th 1982. He started to learn capoeira in the year of 2000 when he studied International Relation in Gadjah Mada University, Jogjakarta which he was one of a founding member for the widespread group Capoeira Brincadeira (now group Senzala Indonesia). In the year of 2003, he trained under guidance of Instructor Medusa and Contra Mestre Pedro Gatuno from Group Senzala. Since then, he keeps focusing on training and promoting capoeira around Java.

By the year of 2006 he moved to Bali, together with Instructor Medusa, they started the first established Capoeira group in Bali. In December 2007, they organized the first international Capoeira event in Bali, Primeiro Batizado Grupo Senzala with special guests: Mestre Gato (group Senzala Rio de Janeiro) and Mestre Ousado (group Argola de Ouro Singapore).

In September 2008 and again in 2009, and 2011 he went to Brazil to experience the root of capoeira by invitation and sponsorship of Prof.Caca from Escola Cultural Zungu Capoeira, Sao Paulo, which now he represents in Bali. Since going to Brazil Instrutor Noko has been invited to take workshops in Hongkong and more recently in East Timor.

  • this evening its a one of the best evening that i ever had in bali,
its beeen such a loooooooooong time i never see “hoooda” by the sunset while my bottle of bintang is half empty,
once,,, a loooooooong time ago, just like another martial arts i’ve learned, i try to find the killing moves of capoeira the way that long times capoeira warrior fight their enemy and immobilize their opponent ASAP, because the history connected with warriors art of self defense and offense.
in part of that spiritual journey, i found the more killing moves you had, more pain you get. and in the end all martial arts spoken same language, the true martial arts is ‘love’, true universal love will never hurt you, even you just love the arts as an audience.
thanks for Graduado Noko for the invitation,
thanks for Pak Sugeng for the friendship,
thanks for the family or to make me feel like…. ‘wow… a ‘home’ of love…

    hhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxzeee…..!!!! <——–king kong roaaars…
